BotBuild ("we", "us", or "our") operates the BotBuild platform, which allows businesses to create, deploy, and manage AI-powered chatbots. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our platform, including our website at botbuild.co and any associated services.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Name, email address, and authentication data provided when you sign up via Clerk.
• Chatbot content: Documents, knowledge base files, and chatbot configurations you upload.
• Chat logs: Messages exchanged between your deployed chatbots and your end-users (visitors).
• Lead data: Visitor names, email addresses, and phone numbers submitted through lead capture forms on your chatbots.
• Usage data: Message counts, API usage, and billing events.
• Payment information: Processed by Paddle (USD) or Razorpay (INR). We do not store card numbers or payment credentials.
• WhatsApp integration data: Business phone numbers, message templates, and conversation data passed through the WhatsApp Business API via Meta.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and provide the BotBuild platform and its features.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To send transactional emails (lead notifications, handoff alerts) on behalf of chatbot owners.
• To deliver AI-generated responses using Anthropic's Claude API.
• To monitor usage and enforce plan limits.
• To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.

4. WhatsApp & Meta Data

When you connect your WhatsApp Business account through the Meta WhatsApp Business API, we process messages to generate AI responses via your configured chatbot. Message content is processed in real time and may be stored as conversation history within your account. We do not sell or share WhatsApp message data with third parties outside of what is required to operate the service (e.g., Anthropic for AI responses). Use of the WhatsApp Business API is subject to Meta's WhatsApp Business Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Anthropic – to generate AI responses (user messages are sent to the Claude API).
• Paddle – to process USD payments (international customers).
• Razorpay – to process INR payments (India).
• Clerk – for authentication and user management.
• Meta / WhatsApp – when you enable the WhatsApp integration.
• Your configured SMTP provider – to send email notifications you set up.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and chatbot content for as long as your account is active. Chat logs and lead data are retained until you delete them or close your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, secure token verification (HMAC for webhooks), input validation, and access controls. Passwords and payment credentials are never stored by BotBuild.

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions via Clerk. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
